Tuesday 27th August saw a welcome return for Stoney Broke to one of of Edinburgh's, and indeed Scotland's, premier music venues; Bannerman's. While any return to Bannerman's would be a positive, this had the special bonus of being a support slot for Chantel McGregor.
Just as the same line-up had in September 2018, a packed venue witnessed two fantastic performances, with the acoustic sound of Stoney Broke complimenting the full band brilliance of Chantel McGregor's trio.
The 40 minute opening set whizzed past, featuring long time favourites "Southern Cross To Glasgow Central", and "Love Song", emotion packed "The Curse" and set climax "Chain Around My Soul". An already receptive crowd were in good voice, and ready for the headline act.
Chantel McGregor has wowed crowds across the UK with recent appearances including Ramblin Man Festival, plus headline slot at her hometown Bradford Festival. Her recent Scottish mini tour kicked off in Kinross on Monday night, and the crowd were treated to opener "Take The Power", red hot rocker "Fever", the acoustic beauty of "Anaesthetize", "I'm No Good For You" and more.
With the imminent release of her live album "Bury'd Alive", plus an acoustic album AND full band album in the works, it's easy to see why Chantel is one of the most in demand acts in the UK today.
For Stoney Broke attention now turns to Millport Country Music Festival, this Sunday, with an appearance on the "Emerging Talent Showcase" on the Maverick Stage. Set time 3:05pm - 3:20pm. Tickets are available for the festival here
